Complimentary Therapies

I am trained in reflexology, Therapeutic massage, Indian head massage and Reiki healing. In this way I can combine complementary and orthodox medicine especially in pain from musculoskeletal problems.

Reflexology

This is an ancient Chinese practice using manual therapy on the feet, to relieve pain and stress. Reflexologists believe that different areas on your feet and hands correspond to other parts of your body, and massaging them stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system to heal itself. For 3,000 years Chinese practitioners have used reflexology to re-balance Qi (the life force flowing through energy channels) to treat a number of conditions. It can work alongside conventional Western medical medicine to promote healing and improve wellbeing and vitality.

Reiki

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping many problems and nearly always creates a beneficial effect and is deeply relaxing. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. I have found it particularly useful in musculoskeletal pain.

Therapeutic Massage

I use this to break down muscular spasm in musculoskeletal pain and injury and to gently help stretch muscles.
